Overview

Claude Code is a terminal-based agentic coding assistant from Anthropic that operates directly within your local development environment. Unlike traditional chat interfaces, Claude Code has the ability to read and write files, execute terminal commands, use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to access external tools, and orchestrate complex technical plans autonomously. It is frequently used in a "hybrid workflow" alongside code editors like Cursor or Obsidian, serving as the "workhorse" for execution while the human provides high-level direction and review.
